The university is an independent institution that is affiliated with the University of Wollongong in Australia and its Centre for Language and Culture is an IDP:IELTS Australia testing centre. It started its presence in Dubai opposite to Al Mulla Plaza and was then known as the Institute of Australian Studies (IAS), before moving to Jumeirah Beach Road when it was known as University of Wollongong, Dubai Campus, and finally being incorporated in 2004 with its current name and present home in the Dubai Knowledge Village.

Application Requirements
• Original or certified copy of the secondary school records.
• A Statement or Certificate of Completion of secondary school.
• Proof of English (IELTS or TOEFL).
• 4 passport-sized photographs.
• Copy of the passport (and Residence Visa, if resident in the UAE).
• Certified copy of official academic transcript showing all courses studied and grades obtained, and an explanation of the grading system.

Qualifications
Arab: Minimum of 70% in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate for Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, and 65% for Syria. Baccalaureat Libanais (Baccalaureate) score of 13 or above for Lebanon, Grade ‘C’ and above in Sixth Form Baccalaureat for Iraq.
British: 7 O-Levels with ‘C’ grades or above. 2 A-Levels with ‘D’ grades or above with at least 5 O-Levels with ‘C’ grades or above.
United States: American High School Diploma with an overall average of “C” (70% or GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0).
Australia: Minimum score of 75 in the NSW High School Certificate.
South Asia: 55% and above in the Indian School Certificate (ISC) or CBSE Senior School Certificates, or 65% and above in State Board Examinations. Higher School Certificate of 50% and above or GPA 3.0 out of 5.0 for Bangladesh. 60% for above in the Pakistani Intermediate Certificate or Higher Secondary School Certificate.
Worldwide: International Baccalaureate Diploma with 24 points or above.
