American University of Sharjah is affiliated with the American University in Washington, DC, linked by a renewable five-year contract. Bachelors of science programs in engineering are accredit by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). AUS is incorporated in the state of Delaware and licensed by the Delaware Department of Education. 51 percent of its faculty are from the United States of America (USA) or Canada, 87 percent have terminal degrees, and 10 percent are part-time faculty.
